All the sites I’ve written for have different terms, word counts, writing requirements, review processes and payment systems, so it’s a good intent to concentrate on one or two sites at a time, and learn them well, instead of trying to have too many things going on at once, and doing poorly in all of them.
You can write your own blogs for free, on free sites like Blogger. You can make money from Adsense, which is simple to install, or from other ad revenue sources. You can also write blogs for free on sites like Today.com to make some extra money.
If you are artistically inclined, you can make some extra money with your artwork, without directly selling it. Put up a Hubpage or blog featuring your paintings or other artwork, and gather a following of fans, and make extra money off of Adsense or other ads. You can also try creating original designs for sites like Cafe Press or Zazzle. When people purchase products like tshirts or coffee mugs with your designs, you get a percentage of the profit, and still retain the rights for your designs.
